ParcelPoint hits the spot with EZIPOP brochure holders

There's a shopper revolution happening

Online retail is booming; 48 million small parcels were delivered from overseas to Australia in 2010-11, double the 23.5 million pieces delivered in 2006-7. Australian Customs data.

But with most people working 9 to 5 and parcels needing a signature on delivery, there’s a real problem getting parcels into the hands of those eager shoppers. Undeliverable parcels have traditionally been dropped at the local post office for collection by the addressee Monday to Friday between 9 and 5.

ParcelPoint saves the day - or night

The solution has arrived with ParcelPoint, a delivery service that’s established a way for online consumers to receive their parcels at the local newsagent or other convenience outlet, rather than having to collect them from their local Post Office. It’s a simple process; shoppers are notified by SMS when their parcels have been delivered to their local ParcelPoint outlet and are able to collect them whenever that store is open. (Often 12 hours a day, 7 days a week).

Newsagents, convenience stores and video stores are some of the ParcelPoint agents now providing this service

EZIPOP leaflet holders, a key marketing component

ParcelPoint was launched in mid 2011, achieving over 1000 network agents in just 18 months. The key marketing component used to achieve this success has been Point Of Purchase (POP). Posters and on counter brochures have spread the word to consumers and other possible outlets in a cost effective way.

When gearing up for their launch, ParcelPoint approached EZIPOP, because they wanted a unique brochure display that would enhance their visual impact at P.O.P. and provide information to interested consumers.

Julian Leach, Chief Commercial Officer and ParcelPoint Co-Founder said, “We’ve got many hundreds of ParcelPoint EZIPOPs on counters throughout the country, they’re working well and we’re very happy with the product. Our network agents are happy to be involved in the ParcelPoint service, because they receive direct commission on every parcel handled and they’re enjoying increased foot-traffic, plus lots of new local customers.

And they're impressed too, with the EZIPOP brochure displays, because they take up minimal space on counter, they’re easy to display and act as a silent salesman for the service”.

Big and bulky or tiny package

Whether the package is tiny or huge, ParcelPoint has got it covered within it’s network of agents. Bulky items can be handled by outlets such as Kennards Storage, who provide a 24 hour 7 days per week operation.

“We’re developing new partnerships with online retailers and parcel carriers as both groups can benefit significantly from promoting a convenient, more efficient delivery option”. Julian Leach said.
